Up until very recently, I thought Pibb and Pibb Xtra were two different sodas. Probably because I saw the two names side-by-side for a LONG time during the change. Never got into it much though, a good soda but I’ve always been in the Dr. Pepper camp…
Thanks for the comment, Jonathan. Technically, they sort of are. The Pibb Xtra brand change also signaled a formula shift to a “bolder” taste. I don’t remember Mr. Pibb enough to know how noticeable the taste difference was, though.
