Ale-8-One is a ginger and citrus flavored soda that was invented in 1926 by G.L. Wainscott of Winchester, Kentucky. After legal disputes over a cola he created, Wainscott looked for a new, unique flavor for his soft drink business and he came up with Ale-8-One. Fielding A. Rodgers,  the great, great nephew of Wainscott, is the president of the company.
