Ale-8-One Review (Soda Tasting #87)

Ale-8-One is a ginger and citrus flavored soda that was invented in 1926 by G.L. Wainscott of Winchester, Kentucky. After legal disputes over a cola he created, Wainscott looked for a new, unique flavor for his soft drink business and he came up with Ale-8-One. Fielding A. Rodgers,  the great, great nephew of Wainscott, is the president of the company. According to their website, he “still mixes up the closely guarded family secret using Wainscott’s hand-written notes.”

Disclosure: This product was provided to me by Ale-8-One Beverage Company. For more on how I interact with soda companies when offered a sample, please see the brand new “For Soda Companies” page on the Soda Tasting website.

Note: In the video, I said that Ale-8-One was invented by G.K. Wainscott, when it is actually G.L. Wainscott. Sorry for the error.
