The Fresca brand was first introduced in the U.S. in 1966, but Coca-Cola uses the brand differently in Mexico. Pepsi first attempted a Mountain Dew flavor variant in 1988 with Mountain Dew Red, a fruit flavored Dew that saw only a brief test release.
