Ohio schoolteacher Frank Stewart opened his Stewart’s Root Beer stand in 1924. Stewart’s was only available at root beer stands and drive-in theaters until 1990, when Cable Car Beverage Corporation acquired the bottling rights and began producing 12 ounce bottles of the soda. The Stewart’s brand dates back to 1924, when it started as a root beer stand. They didn’t begin bottling soda until 1990 and, in 1995, they introduced the Orange ‘n Cream flavor.
