Pepsi Throwback Review (Soda Tasting #207)

Pepsi Throwback Review (Soda Tasting #207)

Pepsi Throwback was released in 2009, alongside Mountain Dew Throwback, as a sugar sweetened version of Pepsi. This led many to recall the days when the drink did not include high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The mainstream version of Pepsi available today is sweetened with both HFCS and sugar. Thank you to John Wilkerson, mikeypaco, trainsanddominoes1 (Jonathan) and TheFastcarboy1 for requesting this soda and supporting the show. Thank you, as well, to Fiasco Deuce, Kevin Saju, MrKalashnikov9 and AlexPanzerADT. What […]

Vimto Review (Soda Tasting #201)

Vimto Review (Soda Tasting #201)

John Noel Nichols created Vimto in 1908. It features a mix of carbonated water and sugar with fruit juices like grapes, raspberries and blackcurrants. When iVolkswagen requested it, it was described as a mixed fruit soda. I’m not sure if everyone would consider it a soda or not, but since it was requested and I found some locally, I thought I would take a look. Thank you to iVolkswagen and antstar101 for requesting this soda and supporting the show. Thank […]

Pepsi (with Sugar) Review (Soda Tasting #189)

Pepsi (with Sugar) Review (Soda Tasting #189)

In the United States, Pepsi has begun releasing a glass bottle version of the drink, sweetened only with sugar. Though it may taste the same, it is distinctive from Pepsi Throwback in branding and in the fact it comes in a glass bottle, which Throwback does not. I first mentioned this soda on my Pepsi Blind Tasting, where I compared it to the regular high fructose corn syrup and sugar version we have in the U.S. as well as the […]

Verse Music Group acquired their catalog in 2011 with plans to issue re-releases. Have you had this soda? Please let me know in the comments. Thank you for watching.
