Irn-Bru (pronounced iron brew) is a popular soft drink in Scotland, where it was first produced in Falkirk in 1901. According to A.G. Barr, the secret recipe to Irn-Bru is known to only three people: Robin Barr (formerly the Chairman of A.G. Barr), Julie Barr (Robin Barr’s daughter, who is also the Company Secretary and Legal Affairs Manager for A.G. Barr) and one other board member whose identity is confidential.
The Barr family has passed the recipe down from generation to generation, beginning with Robert Barr and his son, Andrew Greig Barr. It contains 32 ingredients and one of those ingredients is iron.
