Soda Tasting

Cheerwine (with Sugar) Review (Soda Tasting #29)

In episode #9 of Soda Tasting, I reviewed Cheerwine. I tasted the version that is available nationally, which is sweetened by high fructose corn syrup. In this episode, I review the far less common sugar sweetened version, which is sold in glass bottles.

Have you had the sugar version of Cheerwine? Do you prefer it to the regular version? Please let me know in the comments.

Thank you for watching.

  1. I love cherry soda so I bought 6 bottles of cheerwine off the Internet. I iced it down well. I found the first taste was bright with cherry flavor but the back finish had a unpleasant wine taste ( now I know there’s no wine in it and I don’t believe I’m a nut )
But that’s what I tasted. I really tried to like it. I gave away the last four bottles to a friend who returned three back to me. Perhaps because we are from the north
It’s a southern thing. Believe it or not one of the best cherry sodas I have had was a black cherry Walmart brand in a 2 liter for .84 cents so who knows.

    • Thanks for the response, Neil. I’ve lived in New England for more than half my life. Everyone has their own taste. If you like it, you like it and if you don’t, you don’t. :) That’s why I try to encourage everyone to respect the tastes of others, because we are all different.

      Thanks,

      Patrick
